Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The things Metro Atlanta homeowners actually ask us — answered plainly. If yours isn't here, call and ask a human.

Service & scheduling

How often should I have my home treated for pests?

Most homes benefit from quarterly treatments to maintain a strong barrier against pests year-round.

Do I have to leave my home during treatment?

In most cases, you can stay home. We'll always inform you if any special precautions are needed.

Do you offer one-time treatments?

Yes, we do offer one-time services. They have a 30-day warranty. However, ongoing service provides long-term protection & prevention, which will save you time, money & hassle.

Do I need to be home for my service visit?

Not for exterior visits — most quarterly maintenance happens outside, and we'll leave a summary of what we found and treated. If you'd like interior service, just let us know and we'll schedule a time that works for you.

How should I prepare for my first visit?

Very little is needed. Clearing access to the areas of concern (under sinks, along garage walls, around the foundation) helps us work faster, and pointing out where you've seen activity helps us target it. We'll walk you through anything specific when we schedule.

How long does a typical treatment take?

A standard quarterly exterior service usually takes well under an hour. Initial visits, interior service, and termite treatments take longer because they start with a thorough inspection — we'd rather do it right than do it fast.

Safety

Is pest control safe for my family & pets?

Absolutely. The products & application methods that we use require a short time to dry. Then you, your loved ones & pets are free to continue your normal routine & activities.

Will rain wash away my treatment?

Professional products are designed to bond to treated surfaces once dry, which happens quickly on a normal Georgia day. Ordinary rain afterward won't remove the barrier — and if weather ever genuinely interferes with a treatment, we'll make it right at no charge.

Do you use the same stuff I can buy at the store?

No. Professional products, and more importantly professional placement, are the difference. Store sprays are repellents that scatter pests (and can make ant problems worse by splitting colonies). We use targeted, non-repellent products, baits, and growth regulators that eliminate the colony or nest itself — applied precisely where they work and nowhere they don't.

Guarantees & pricing

What happens if pests come back between visits?

We stand behind our work. If you see activity in between regular services, just call us. We'll come back out free of charge.

Are your inspections really free?

Yes — genuinely free, including termite inspections. We'll look at your home, tell you what we find in plain English, and give you a straight recommendation. If you don't need treatment, we'll tell you that too.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. The Undertaker Pest Control is fully licensed and insured for pest and termite work in Georgia, and we've been serving this area since 2005. We're happy to answer any questions about our credentials before you book.

How much does pest control cost?

It depends on your home's size, construction, and what's active — which is why we start with a free inspection and give you a real number before any work begins. No pressure, no surprise add-ons. For typical Georgia price ranges, see our pest control cost guide in the Resources section.

Pests & local questions

What areas do you serve?

We serve most of Metro Atlanta from our Walton County home base — roughly everything within an hour of the city on the east side and the south side, plus the whole arc in between and a stretch to the north. That covers Walton, Gwinnett, Barrow, Jackson, Clarke, Oconee, Morgan, Newton, Rockdale, DeKalb, Henry, Clayton, Fayette, and Spalding counties — from Monroe, Lawrenceville, and Athens down through Conyers, McDonough, and Peachtree City. Not sure if you're in range? Call us — if we can't help, we'll point you to someone who can.

I saw winged bugs swarming inside. Is that termites?

Possibly — a spring swarm indoors is one of the strongest signs of an active termite colony in or under the structure. Check the wings and waist: termites have equal-length wings and a thick waist; flying ants have unequal wings and a pinched waist. Either way, save a few in a bag and call us for a free inspection. Don't panic, but don't wait a season, either.

Do you provide termite letters for home closings?

If you're buying, selling, or refinancing, ask us about the Official Georgia Wood Infestation Inspection Report (the 'termite letter' lenders request). We'll walk you through what's needed for your closing and schedule the inspection on your timeline.

Why 'The Undertaker'?

Because we don't just treat pests — we undertake them. It started as the kind of name you don't forget, and it stuck because it fits how we work: when we take on your pest problem, we see it all the way through. We are dead serious about pests.
